The two main bidders in battle with GM to secure the future of Vauxhall and European Opel has begun in earnest. Brussels based industrial holding group RHJ International, has said it would retain both UK sites but may ask workers to take a pay-cut in exchange for

 shares. Whilst Canadian Magna International has pledged to keep both plants open at least until 2013, but has stated that a possible 10,000 staff could be laid off across Europe.
