The Malasian backer of the LDV rescue deal have pulled out threatening more than 6,000 UK jobs. Issues of long-term viability are thought to be hindering government loan guarantees.
Birmingham based Van manufactures LDV going into administration. This follows many vain attempts to find a buyer for the business, including Malaysian based Westar. This put the jobs of 850 employees at the plant in jeopardy as well as thousands more in the supply chain and local economy.
