Thinking about winter? Think about the new Toyota Hilux Artic pickup. The new Hilux arrives with a choice of common-rail turbo diesel engines; The 3.0 litre ensures responsive and refined acceleration in all gears whatever cargo you have in the back, and the more economical but equally impressive 2.5 litre can tow a braked trailer of 2250 kg without the slightest strain.
Most recently the pickup received some great press after the popular BBC motoring show Top Gear [Clarkson, Hammond and May], put it through its paces in its ‘indestructible’ test i.e. floating it out to sea- sort of! Putting it on top of a multi-story building before it was demolished and amazingly starting it with only the most basic of tools. Indestructible maybe but what’s new with the Artic? The latest version comes with two trim levels the HL2 and HL3. The first boasts body colour coding, matching fascia, air-con and MP3 CD radio system, all very nice with the HL3 having a touch of chrome plating, alloy wheels and side steps. If your in the brick-laying, landscaping, plastering or roofing trade then you couldn’t go far wrong with getting what still appears to be one of the most popular pickups in the U.K
